This notice describes which personal data start:haus processes on this website. It applies to the public site. The CMS is for internal use only.
1. Controller
The controller under the GDPR is start:haus GmbH – Akademie für Bildung & Unternehmertum, Markstraße 36/37, 13409 Berlin-Reinickendorf, represented by managing director Semiha Ceyhan. Contact: [email protected], phone +49 (0) 30 2555 9160. No data protection officer has been appointed at present.
2. Hosting
The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., USA (including the Frankfurt region). Access generates technically necessary server logs (e.g. IP address, time, page, browser). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (operating and securing the site). Any transfer to the USA relies on the provider’s standard contractual clauses.
3. Contact forms
If you submit a form, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, email, phone, topic, voucher status, message) to handle your request. Legal bases are Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual enquiry) and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where you give separate consent. Data is stored in the CMS and not used for advertising. Retention: at most 12 months after the request is closed, unless longer statutory retention applies. You may withdraw consent at any time.
4. WhatsApp
If you choose WhatsApp, you leave our website. The operator is Meta Platforms. WhatsApp/Meta’s privacy notices apply. start:haus cannot control what else Meta processes. WhatsApp is optional; email and phone are alternatives.
5. Assistant chat
The short help chat runs only in your browser. Your input is not sent to us, not to an AI system and not to third parties. Messages disappear when you close or reload the page.
6. Cookies and local storage
The public site does not set analytics, advertising or social-media cookies. Technically necessary cookies may be required (e.g. CMS login for staff). A notice banner may remember that you closed it (sessionStorage). That is needed for this information and contains no advertising.
7. Fonts and images
Fonts are served by us, not loaded live from Google Fonts. Decorative Stitch design images are delivered by Google (lh3.googleusercontent.com). Your IP address may be transmitted to Google. There is no call to advertising networks.
8. Social networks
Links to Facebook or similar services load no plugins and set no cookies. Only if you click the link do the provider’s rules apply.
9. CMS and internal AI help
The editorial system and internal AI editor are for signed-in staff only. Visitor enquiries are not automatically sent to language models.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, usually the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. Requests: [email protected].
